The operation
The neck lift takes approximately 60–90 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. Light sedation (twilight sleep) can be added if necessary. Excess skin is removed and the muscles (platysma) are tightened through a small incision below the chin or behind the ears. Fat deposits can also be removed simultaneously if necessary.
Dr. Graß will then suture the skin without tension and apply a light compression bandage. After a short rest period, you can leave the practice—accompanied, if you wish.
Aftercare

Physical exertion, heat and direct sunlight should be avoided during the first few weeks.

Slight swelling and bruising are possible, but usually subside quickly.

The stitches are removed after about 7–10 days.
