Treat crow's feet gently – for a fresh, friendly look
Fine laugh lines around the eyes often add charm and expressiveness to the face. However, over time, they can deepen and give the eye area a tired, serious, or even sad appearance. Modern aesthetic medicine now offers effective ways to specifically counteract these so-called crow's feet.
In our practice, we prefer treatment with botulinum toxin, better known as Botox. This active ingredient targets the small facial muscles responsible for the formation of wrinkles in the outer corners of the eyes. By specifically relaxing these muscles, the skin is no longer subjected to as much strain, allowing the fine lines to smooth out.
Specialist Dr. Christian Graß has extensive expertise in wrinkle treatment with Botox. He takes the time necessary to discuss with you which treatment steps are appropriate. Your personalized treatment plan will be tailored to your individual facial features – with the goal of achieving a natural and harmonious result.
Who is Botox treatment for crow's feet suitable for?
Botulinum toxin treatment is suitable for anyone who notices and is bothered by the beginning or pronounced wrinkles around the eyes. Facial expressions, genetic predisposition, sun exposure, or even lifestyle factors often trigger the formation of wrinkles. Regardless of the cause, targeted Botox treatment can, in most cases, significantly smooth the appearance.
For particularly deep wrinkles, additional hyaluronic acid injections may be beneficial. Hyaluronic acid builds volume in the deeper layers of the skin and can compensate for age-related volume loss. Which method or combination is suitable for you depends on your individual skin condition and the depth of the wrinkles.
In rare cases—for example, in certain neuromuscular disorders—Botox treatment should be avoided. Acute skin irritation or infection in the treatment area may also be grounds for exclusion. If Botox is not an option for you, we will work together to find a suitable alternative.
What are the benefits of the treatment?
The use of botulinum toxin to smooth crow's feet is a minimally invasive yet effective procedure. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, takes only a few minutes, and is generally virtually painless. No recovery time is required, allowing you to return to your daily routine immediately.
Another advantage: The effect of the preparation is not permanent. After a few months, the body naturally breaks down the Botox. This offers you maximum flexibility and safety. If you are satisfied with the results, you can have the treatment topped up regularly to maintain the effect permanently.
How is crow's feet treated?
Preparation
Before treatment begins, Dr. Graß will conduct a detailed consultation with you. During this consultation, you will learn about the options available for specifically reducing crow's feet and what the expected results might look like. We will also comprehensively inform you about all relevant aspects, such as potential risks and side effects.
After a careful analysis of the skin structure around the eyes, we develop an individual treatment concept.
The injection
Before treatment begins, the affected area of skin is thoroughly cleansed. Then, using a very fine needle, the botulinum toxin is injected directly into the muscles responsible for the wrinkles. The drug's effects are not immediate; the first visible effects typically appear after three to five days, when the treated muscles relax and the wrinkles appear noticeably less pronounced.
In certain cases, hyaluronic acid can also be used as a complement, for example, when individual wrinkles are particularly deep. In these areas, the effect is visible immediately after injection, as hyaluronic acid immediately replenishes volume. With a combined treatment, the final result can usually be reliably assessed after about two to three weeks.
Aftercare
Immediately after treatment, you'll usually be able to socialize and resume your usual activities. However, it's recommended that you avoid physical exertion and visits to saunas or tanning beds for a few days. You should also avoid prolonged sunbathing to avoid placing additional strain on your skin.
Please also note that the treated area should not be massaged or pressed too hard during the first few days.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Botox and hyaluronic acid treatments are among the most proven methods in aesthetic medicine. Dr. Graß performs these procedures routinely and with the utmost care. Nevertheless, in rare cases, adverse reactions such as slight bruising, redness, or temporary swelling may occur. These side effects usually disappear within a few days.
Thanks to our many years of experience and precise dosage, risks such as overcorrection or unnatural results are extremely rare. Our top priority is always a soft, natural appearance that emphasizes your individual charisma.
